JSFL 2014 RECAP

It's been awhile since penned a piece in this blog ... seems like a year, anyway let's go back to the good stuff.

2014 was a banner year for Santa Laurensia in the Jakarta Schools Football League, as we bagged podium finishes for 2 of our 3 teams which joined  the league last year.

• U16B - Greenfield Challenge Cup Champions
• U16B - Coca Cola Cup League Division Runner-Up
• U10E - Coca Cola Cup League Division Champions 

We would like to congratulate the Players which despite their hectic academic schedule was able to commit to the their goal it was their drive to win that lead to them to success.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Parents, who if without their support and patience the outcome will not be realized.

Kudos to the coaches of our U10 & U16 teams who have worked alongside the players week in and week out to prepare the players. 

Thank you to the Principals which gave us the time and opportunity to compete at this level. The School Staff and Drivers who made sure that we have the support when we needed it.

A special mention goes out to the U12 team, that despite their difficult season managed to enjoy and kept their spirit all throughout their season...we will get them next time boys!

Under - 10
St. Laurensia   7    Vs  Jakarta Japan Club  0

Our U10 team was off to a great start as it netted 7 goals against a very lively Jakarta Japan Club. The team which is strengthened by veteran players from previous JSFL seasons they look to be a contender this year as it showed a good mix of experienced players and rookies which showed the drive to play and win. The team had relatively great support from their parents as they showed in full force last Saturday which truly help motivate the kids to play hard.

Congratulations to the boys, Coach Kiki and Kudos to the Parents for providing the much needed cheer and support.

Under - 12
St. Laurensia   1   Vs   Jakarta Japan Club  4

The U12 team went down fighting against an active Jakarta Japan Club team. The team with just 9 players from start to end fought hard from the 1st to the 3rd quarter as they kept the score close and eventually equalizing at the end of the 2nd quarter from a superb effort from Myles. But with just 9 players playing that day the Japanese team used their substitutes to run down our tired defenders in the fourth quarter to score a number of goals to win the match.

Coach Joko assessed that this was a winnable game if our team was complete, hopefully the other members will commit fully to the team's campaign this year as we expect this team to be among the top 3 of the division.

Under - 16
St. Laurensia   2   Vs  0  STB-ACS (Tiara Bangsa) 

A great start for the U16 team as it notched its first win against a rated STB-ACS (Tiara Bangsa) team by a 2 - 0 scoreline with strikes Matthias and Baron. This team which consist of players which won the U14C Division in JSFL Season 2012 they will once again aim for a podium finish this season to continue their excellent run in the league.

Coach Rahman assures that if the players keep themselves healthy and available every game they will be contenders for a podium finish this season.

Starting 2014 with a Bang!

Happy New Year to all!

We start 2014 with a bang as the Jakarta Schools Football League – Coca Cola Cup 2013 edition starts this coming Saturday (11 January) and will run almost every weekend from Saturday until early April.  

The Laurensia Cup will open on the 18th of January and will run  till the 24th January. The school will be a buzz of sports activity as the Junior High and Senior High School students host other schools for this year's edition of the Laurensia Cup aptly themed: Viva la Vida " Vie Valiantly in Laurensia Vivacious Days"
